Once you are licensed, you can download the software. The WXP binaries and database files are available on the Unisys Weather Web site at:

http://wxp.unisys.com/bin/win32

In this directory, you will see the 40+ executable files that comprise WXP.   Download each of the files listed.

The database files are located in

http://wxp.unisys.com/etc

There are several dozen database files which can be downloaded individually or there is a compressed tar file: wxp-dbase.tar.gz which contains the main database files.  A program like WinZip should be able to decompress and untar this file.

When you are ready to download, remember the directories to place the files:

directory Version
wxp\bin Windows 95/98/NT/... binaries
wxp\etc database tar files
wxp\scripts sample scripts (not currently available)

Updating Binary and Database Files

These files will be routinely updated.  New binaries with bug fixes and new features will also appear in these directories.  It is recommended to check these files once every 2 to 3 months for newer versions.

Licensing WXP

WXP binaries require a license file in order to run.  The license file "wxp.lic" goes in the "wxp\etc" directory. To create this file, contact Unisysand provide the name of the computer and/or computers that WXP is going to run on  The computer name is what shows up in Network Neighborhood and can be set in the Control Panel/Network/Identification dialog.  Once Unisys has the computer name(s), you will receive the license file via e-mail which will look something like wxp.lic.sitename.  Make sure you rename it to wxp.lic when placing it in the database directory (\etc).
